Information on data processing according to Art 13 DSGVO
Responsible
The collection and processing of your data in the context of your application to a study program is handled by Sigmund Freud University (SFU), Freudplatz 1, 1020 Vienna, Contact:
rektorat@sfu.ac.at, is responsible for the collection and processing of your data.
Purpose
The data is processed for the purpose of the application procedure and management as well as for the implementation and evaluation of the admission procedure at SFU.
The data from the entrance test of applicants* who subsequently begin a course of study will be compared with their grades/performances at the end of the test in order to evaluate the suitability of the test. Results are presented exclusively in anonymous form.
The duration of the storage depends on legal requirements. Application data is generally retained for 1 year.
Test data from the admission procedure of first-year students are retained until the purpose has been fulfilled (usually 3 to 4 years).
When students are admitted to the programme, personal data is stored for the purpose of study records and management in accordance with the regulations of higher education law. Information on this is available on the student platform or website at the beginning of the study programme.
Data categories
Contact data for communication, profile data, data of payment transactions, data on school career, curriculum vitae, motivation letter, identity cards, certificates, test data, data of the personal admission interview, as well as a (provisionally) assigned ma-triculation number depending on the status of the procedure are processed.
Recipient
Persons attributable to the person in charge have access to the data and process them to the extent necessary for the application procedure and management and for the implementation and evaluation of the admission procedure.
Legal basis of the processing
In accordance with Art. 6 Para. 1 lit. c DSGVO, the application data is used to fulfil a contract to which the data subject is a party (contract for admission to the admission procedure) or to carry out pre-contractual measures (study contract if the admission procedure is completed positively), which are carried out at the request of the data subject. The data is queried in order to be able to check the admission requirements in accordance with higher education law.
Without the provision of the data, the application procedure cannot be carried out.
The storage of the test data of applicants starting a course of study and the evaluation in conjunction with the performance is carried out in accordance with Art 6 Para. 1 lit f DSGVO on the basis of the legitimate interest (research and quality assurance) of the SFU.
Your rights
You have the
- Right of access to the personal data concerned (Art. 15 DSGVO),
- Right of rectification (Art. 16 DSGVO) or deletion (Art. 17 DSGVO) or
- Restriction of processing (Art. 18 DSGVO)
- Right to object, for reasons arising from your particular situation (Art 21 DSGVO),
- Right to data transferability (Art. 21 DSGVO),
which can be claimed from the SFU as the person responsible.
